I am Dr. Sachin Shakya, MBBS, MD (NMC No. 4180), a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist with over 15 years of experience in comprehensive cancer care. I currently serve as a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Department Coordinator at Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center (NCHRC), where I am dedicated to delivering evidence-based, compassionate treatment with a focus on both curative and palliative care.

My medical journey began at Om Hospital and Research Center, where I worked as a House Physician in the Department of Oncology from 2002 to 2007. I went on to serve as a Registrar at Om Hospital and Sarvanga Hospital between 2012 and 2015, before joining NCHRC in 2015 in my current role. Alongside my clinical responsibilities, I coordinate departmental operations and contribute to emergency preparedness as the Coordinator of the Sub-Committee Outbreak Response Team.

My special interests lie in Breast Cancer and Lung Cancer, and I strive to apply the most advanced, evidence-based treatment approaches for my patients. I have also contributed to oncology research and education through more than 50 abstracts and presentations in national and international medical journals.

I am actively involved in several professional organizations, including NESMO, SFO-N, ESMO, and ASCO. I also support holistic cancer care through my work with the Nepalese Association of Palliative Care, Nepal Cancer Relief Society, and Nepal Cancer Support Group.
